This is a āhands onā role. The selected candidate will report to our SVP ā Legal and Compliance and manage one or more lawyers</p><p><br><strong>In this role you will:</strong></p><ul><li>Advise our various business teams with respect to a wide range of legal, regulatory and contractual matters. You will be a primary point of contact for:</li><li>managing, structuring, drafting and negotiating a high volume of commercial agreements with a variety of consumer financial services, technology and online marketing companies; and</li></ul><ul><li>advising supported business teams with respect to relevant financial services and FinTech laws and regulations, data privacy and security laws, and general commercial contracting principles </li></ul><ul><li>Identify and explain non-standard terms and associated risks to relevant business stakeholders, interpret and advise on contract requirements, obligations and risk exposure</li><li>Utilize existing systems and applications for creating, editing, storing, tracking, administering and managing new and amended contracts; and</li></ul><p><strong> </strong></p><p><strong>Some things we consider critical for this role:</strong></p><ul><li>Active and in good standing member of a US State Bar</li><li>JD from an ABA accredited law school</li><li>10+ years of legal experience (a combination of law firm and in-house experience) focused on consumer financial services, technology contracting/licensing and data privacy laws and regulations)</li><li>Working knowledge of relevant consumer financial services laws and regulations (e.g., TILA and Reg. Z, ECOA and Reg. B, FCRA and RESPA), privacy (e.g., GLBA and CCPA), data security, consumer protection laws and regulations and risk management</li><li>Detail-oriented project and people management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing projects to effective resolution.
