A Master Data Management (MDM) Solutions Architect plays a crucial role in designing and implementing systems that manage an organization's critical data to ensure its consistency, quality, and usability across business processes. Here are the key job duties typically associated with this role:

Requirements

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead client engagements to define master data strategies by collaborating with senior IT, digital, and business leaders to align solutions with organizational goals.
  • Partner with client stakeholders to assess their current state, identify master data needs, analyze gaps, and address points effectively.
  • Create comprehensive MDM and Data Governance strategies that align with business objectives, providing expert guidance on architecture and implementation approaches.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of MDM solutions across various data domains, leveraging industry-leading tools and methodologies.
  • Manage project updates, addressing risks and issues, and ensuring alignment between key stakeholders and project objectives.
  • Design, propose, and implement data transformation and integration solutions in collaboration with clients and partner teams.
  • Conduct review sessions with client stakeholders to secure approvals, effectively advocate for architectural decisions, and provide reasoned counterpoints to maintain alignment with project goals.

Must haves and Qualification Requirements:

  • Required: Certification in any leading Master Data Management (MDM) platforms (e.g., Informatica, TIBCO, Reltio, IBM InfoSphere).
  • Facilitation Expertise: Proven experience in conducting Discovery Workshops to uncover requirements and align stakeholders.
  • Effective Communication and Negotiation: Skilled at engaging with clients and stakeholders, articulating solutions, and confidently debating options to drive agreement and alignment.
  • MDM Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) architecture, methodologies, and BIC tools.
  • Data Governance Expertise: Strong understanding of Data Governance models and methodologies, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
  • Integration Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of integration patterns and architectural principles for both application and data integration.
  • Knowledge of Data Platforms: Familiarity with modern data products and platforms like Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Data Modelling and Management: Advanced knowledge of data modelling, ontologies, taxonomies, and metadata management.
  • Business Process Analysis: Ability to analyse existing business processes related to data management, identify pain points, and design technical and functional roadmaps for improvement. Prior experience in this area is critical.
  • Program Management: Strong grasp of program management principles, particularly in designing phased implementation roadmaps for MDM and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI).

Nice to have Skills/Qualifications

  • Industry Experience: Proven expertise in delivering data management solutions tailored to the Life Sciences industry.
  • Cloud Knowledge: Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Hands-on experience in data engineering and programming languages, such as SQL and Python.
  • Good to Have: Experience creating impactful PowerPoint presentations for business and technical stakeholders.
  • Capability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and strategies to non-technical audiences through visual and verbal communication.
  • Preferred: Multiple certifications or hands-on expertise in advanced features of MDM platforms, showcasing proficiency in system architecture, configuration, and implementation.
  • 2+ years of experience working in a business context (technology consulting, systems integration, management consulting, working as an analyst “in industry,” etc.) – Big 5 Consulting or similar (e.g., Deloitte, Accenture, E&Y, KPMG, PwC, Slalom, etc.) background is highly desirable
  • Candidate will be required to work Eastern and Europe time zones.
