This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Manager, Software Engineering in the United States.

As a Manager of Software Engineering, you will lead a talented team building cloud-based SaaS applications that directly impact how organizations manage complex operational challenges. This role offers a unique blend of people leadership, technical strategy, and hands-on engineering oversight. You will guide the team to deliver high-quality software, champion modern development practices, and continuously improve processes to maximize efficiency and impact. Collaboration with Product, QA, Customer Success, and cross-functional teams is central to shaping the technical roadmap and achieving ambitious business goals. Ideal candidates are strategic thinkers, proactive problem-solvers, and passionate about both developing exceptional engineers and delivering outstanding product outcomes.

Accountabilities:

·         Lead, manage, and mentor a team of 4–6 engineers through regular 1:1s, coaching, and career development while removing obstacles that slow their progress.

·         Set technical direction, oversee execution, and ensure team velocity, quality, and delivery timelines are met.

·         Collaborate with Product, QA, Customer Success, and other teams to prioritize and execute roadmap initiatives using Agile methodologies.

·         Assess current engineering practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and developer efficiency.

·         Partner with senior leadership and other engineering managers to align engineering efforts with company goals and foster a collaborative culture.

·         Manage vendor relationships, evaluate build-vs-buy decisions, and handle cross-functional dependencies that impact team delivery.

Requirements

·         5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, including development, system administration, or database management.

·         Experience managing 5+ direct reports or strong Team Lead/Developer Lead experience with proven people leadership skills.

·         Deep understanding of modern software frameworks, system architecture, and best practices for building scalable SaaS applications.

·         Competency in Agile processes, roadmap planning, prioritization, and estimation to balance velocity with quality.

·         Knowledge of security practices, compliance frameworks, and OWASP principles.

·         Ability to work collaboratively across business units and communicate effectively with Product, Sales, Customer Success, or Support teams.

·         Desire to grow as a technical leader while fostering the development of team members.
