Basis Technologies is headquartered in Chicago, and our employees have the flexibility to work from headquarters, completely remote, or a hybrid of the two. Please note, we are hiring on a remote working basis only in the U.S. and Canada.


ABOUT THE TEAM

At Basis Technologies, we’re pioneering the AdTech industry with the most comprehensive, intelligent, and automated solution. Our Application Engineering team drives innovation and builds essential features and integrations that make Basis Platform the go-to software for large agencies and brands. Basis Platform’s comprehensive approach is built on three key dimensions:


1. Full Campaign Lifecycle Support: From strategic planning and media buying to activation, monitoring, reporting, and financial reconciliation, Basis supports every stage of the campaign process.

2. All-Channel Integration: Basis powers campaigns across every advertising channel, including our proprietary DSP and integrations with top platforms across Search, Social, Retail Media, and more.

3. Collaborative Efficiency: Beyond media management, Basis enables agency and brand teams to work together seamlessly, optimizing their workflows and maximizing their impact.


This role will focus on enhancing collaboration efficiency, building features that optimize workflows and empower teams to achieve better outcomes.


WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE

As an Engineering Manager, you’ll be the dev lead for the cross-functional Collaboration team, building full-stack Messaging, Task Management, and Notification capabilities within Basis. Along with developing essential user-facing collaboration features, your team will operate as a Platform team, enabling other engineering teams to integrate seamlessly with these tools by creating scalable APIs and interfaces that unify communications within Basis.


Your responsibilities will include:


  • Partnering closely with Product Management, Design, QA, and other cross-functional teams to execute efficiently on complex projects, including those with many dependencies.
  • Defining, monitoring, and upholding high standards of development quality through pull request review, code contribution, rigorous testing practices, and architecture oversight.
  • Taking an active stake in the careers of your direct reports. Their success is your success.
  • Building and retaining an industry-leading tech team through our recruiting pipeline and through your own network.
  • Creating, embodying, and upholding a positive, high-performing, and inclusive culture. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • 5-7 years of experience, plus 1-3 years of management experience
  • Proven track record of leading engineering teams through full-stack development cycles, from ideation to production, with a focus on building scalable, maintainable systems
  • Background in web development, including proficiency with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React.js) and back-end technologies (e.g., Ruby on Rails, Java Spring Boot)


BONUS POINTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience working on building collaboration tools for SaaS platforms
  • Excited by a fast-paced product development environment.
  • AdTech experience

$127,000 - $219,000 a year
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual salary is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process. The total compensation package for this position may also include commission or bonus, company equity, and competitive benefits.
