The Opportunity:
We are seeking a talented Manager, Data Analytics who will be a dynamic leader to advance analytics and reporting within Velera’s consulting organization to make a significant impact through data-driven decision-making. This individual will lead a team of business analysts and developers, while collaborating with key stakeholders to transform business needs into actionable data solutions.
Day In the Life:
Formalize and lead Data Analytics Services within Velera’s consulting business, including business intelligence, data architecture and management, data science, visualization, data inference, and data reporting to ensure business decisions are informed by high-quality data.
Lead a diverse team of employees in development and implementation of sophisticated analytics and reporting solutions available for organization and client consumption.
Work with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to support business enablement of accurate and timely reporting and data analytics.
Develop and implement Data Analytics Service model for requirements, development, implementation, validation and ongoing management.
Reviews, prioritizes and scopes ad-hoc and custom reporting requests from consulting clients, cross-functional teams, and implements their development, validation and management within the established Data Analytics Services model.
Plans, prioritizes, summarizes, directs, and supervises employees, users and vendors for data analytics and reporting with an emphasis on complete, accurate, compliant, and secure data use.
Continually evaluates team capacity and work outputs to ensure business unit is appropriately resourced.
Oversees reporting team and holds accountable to expected project and process outcomes, results, timelines and Velera’s service standards..
Maximizes staff performance and analytic expertise through clearly defined objectives, training, skill development and performance evaluation.
Establish strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners to ensure flawless implementation of new or enhanced solutions Provide subject matter expertise in statistical analysis across variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation to complex data mining and statistical or predictive modeling.
Lead complex data related analytical projects that drive business decisions and efficiencies.
Research, analyze, validate and document business requirements for integrating business data sources into the enterprise data warehouse.
Create and maintain processes, documentation, and requirements for production reports.
Elicits requirements and translates them into user stories and acceptance criteria.
Works with the Velera’s Data Management team to identify and onboard new sources of data into consulting data environment(s).
Designs and develops highly dynamic reports, dashboards and data visualizations.
Proactively improves the quality of organizational reporting.
Ensures adherence to data management and data governance policies and standards.
Performs the above duties with minimal supervision of direct manager or other members of the team.
Provides leadership and guidance to other Data Analytics Analysts.
Participates actively as a member of the Leadership Team and collaborates with leaders across the organization in developing leadership skills and ensuring operational excellence.
Serve as a change champion to ensure that organizational goals and values are translated and reinforced in day-to-day work.
Interact effectively, proactively and responsively with the highest levels of executive management, both externally senior executives of FIs and internally within Velera.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of trends and developments within the data analytics and business fields to determine future strategies and potential mutually beneficial partnership opportunities.
Performs other related work as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, business analytics, computer science, MIS, information technology or related field of study.
Master’s degree preferred.
10 – 15 years of experience in data technologies, process, data mapping tools with highly complex and integrated business models.
5 years of experience leading analytics and technology teams.
Experience working with data reporting and BI tools, Tableau and PowerBI strongly preferred.
