The Major Gifts Officer Role

As a Major Gifts Officer, you will be responsible for forming personal relationships with prospects and donors in order to secure contributions totaling $250,000/year.

You will work with our Advancement Coordinators on the front-end to get meetings scheduled and with the Donor Relations Manager on the back-end to properly thank and cultivate supporters.

A large part of this role entails turning the Advancement Coordinator’s donor research into a tangible plan to collect funds, i.e. analyzing factors to predict propensity, interest, and willingness to donate.

You will be expected to create material showcasing our mission, success, and strategy and then make a specific ask of the donor, both with regards to the number and what the money will be used for.

The Major Gifts officer will also be responsible for stewarding donors which entails meeting them in person and attending events when necessary. The Major Gifts Officer will report directly to the VP of Development.

This is a good faith estimation, but we do expect some deviance from the listed roles and timing break down.

We are looking for entrepreneurial team players who can identify value creation that may be outside their role and are also willing to take on responsibilities outside their role if needed.
