In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely client billing within a high-volume legal environment. You will manage the full billing lifecycle, from invoice preparation and prebill edits to resolving complex rejections and client-specific adjustments. Working closely with attorneys, clients, and internal teams, you will ensure adherence to strict billing guidelines while maintaining exceptional service standards. The position requires strong analytical ability, precision, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. You will also contribute to process improvements and support the optimization of billing workflows. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on detail, problem-solving, and client-facing operational work.

Accountabilities:
  • Prepare, review, and finalize accurate client invoices while ensuring compliance with detailed billing guidelines, including LEDES formats, alternative fee arrangements, and multi-matter billing structures.
  • Investigate and resolve invoice rejections related to rate issues, billing errors, missing data, budget discrepancies, or e-billing platform requirements, ensuring timely resubmission and resolution.
  • Perform prebill edits, time and expense corrections, narrative adjustments, and manage write-offs, discounts, and unapplied funds in accordance with client agreements.
  • Coordinate invoice submissions, accrual updates, matter setups, and billing system configurations, while responding to billing inquiries and escalation requests.
  • Support continuous improvement of billing processes, contribute to workflow optimization, and ensure strict adherence to client and internal billing policies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in legal billing, billing operations, or related finance/accounting functions, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of billing systems such as Aderant and familiarity with legal e-billing platforms (e.g., Legal Tracker, Tymetrix360, CounselLink).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with strong data management and reporting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in high-volume transactional environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.

Benefits:

  • Hourly compensation range: $22.00 – $29.00, with potential eligibility for annual bonus
  • Hybrid work arrangement (Phoenix, AZ) with structured weekday schedule (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
  • Comprehensive benefits package (details provided upon offer), including health coverage options
  • Opportunity to work within a technology-enabled legal operations environment
  • Exposure to large-scale billing systems and process improvement initiatives
  • Career growth within a structured, collaborative professional services setting
  • Inclusive and equal opportunity workplace culture
