Through eighteen professional master's degrees, courses for advancement and graduate school preparation, certificate programs, summer courses, high school programs, and a program for learning English as a second language, the School of Professional Studies transforms knowledge and understanding in service of the greater good.
Due to expanding enrollment, the School of Professional Studies’ M.S. in Information & Knowledge Strategy (IKNS) program is seeking scholars, practitioners, or industry professionals to propose and teach a new elective course starting in the 2025 summer term. The existing IKNS curriculum to which the new course would be added is described here.

Class Days and Times
The class sections will meet online or in-person once a week (110 minutes) in the late afternoon or early evening, for the duration of one full term. The weekday and exact time when the class will meet has yet to be decided and will be based both on student needs as well as instructor availability.
Columbia University SPS operates under a scholar-practitioner faculty model, which enables students to learn from faculty that have outstanding academic training as well as a record of accomplishment as practitioners in an applied industry setting.
Requirements
Salary: $15,000 – $17,000 per semester-length course teaching.
Please submit a resume and cover letter, inclusive of any university teaching experience, and indicating (i) whether you are applying to teach online (synchronous) or in-person and (ii) a high level description of the course content you are proposing. A cover letter is required.
Must reside and be eligible to work in the United States. In addition, Columbia University’s Policy on Remote Work states that anyone teaching online classes for this program must reside in New York or one of the following states or territories: Biosphere Arizona, CA, CO, CT, Washington D.C., DE, FL, GA, HI, IL, MA, MD, MT, NJ, OK, PA, VA or VT.
