JOB DESCRIPTION

Green Dot Corporation is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join the Platform Team, driving the development of scalable, secure, and resilient systems that support core platform services and infrastructure. This role will lead technical initiatives across CI/CD, observability, and system integrations. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader with deep experience in platform engineering and cloud-native architectures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and develop backend services and APIs to support platform operations including release engineering, DevOps pipelines, and system integrations.
• Lead technical initiatives to improve CI/CD workflows, observability, and platform reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, Security, and Infrastructure to ensure seamless deployment and performance of platform tools.
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to ensure SLA adherence and rapid incident response.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices across the platform domain.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate platform requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, or Go; experience with Spring Boot or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design, OAuth2, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
• Knowledge of container orchestration, release automation, and platform observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus).

PAY RANGE

The targeted base salary for this position is $139,900 to $199,300 per year. The final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.
