Job Description

THE POSITION:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global DevOps Services, the Lead of SRE Services provides technical and process guidance to Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) while ensuring the reliability and efficiency of services provided to specific business units. Key areas of impact this role provides are in-depth knowledge of the engineering environments within the specific business units and providing automated, stable, and consistent application environments. The SREs teams will work closely with development teams to help monitor and maintain IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS based systems where application code is deployed.  The ideal candidate will foster a collaborative environment by leaning on an extensive background in several types of engineering including Software, Systems, Network, Security, Cloud (Public/Private/Community/Hybrid), Automation, and Development Operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Integrate Agile, Cloud, and DevOps services to enhance operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and support.
  • Application security including SAST and DAST implementations.
  • Lead two-week sprints (planning, implementation, demo, retro) with scrum masters.
  • Build new features based on automation created by SREs, Public Cloud Engineers, and innovation teams.
  • Manage and delegate work within the team.
  • Serve as an escalation point for personnel and technical issues.
  • Continuously learn and stay current on new developments.
  • Train and onboard new engineers.
  • Monitor and manage site-specific engineering IaaS and PaaS systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Provide quality release management services.
  • Consume automation to provide a stable and consistent development environment.
  • Implement an automation-first strategy for cloud services and application deployment.
  • Ensure a minimum of 99.9% infrastructure uptime in accordance with SLAs.
  • Maintain standards for documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Address and coordinate efforts on escalated incidents.
  • Enforce ITIL standards and procedures.
  • Assist in managing vendor relationships.
  • Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings, set yearly goals, and provide performance feedback.

  • Responsible for and oversee their respective department.

  • Determine job objectives, work methods and performance standards; review performance relative to departmental objectives discussion appraisal with each employee and performance; authorize and communicate salary changes, promotions, transfers, discipline, and discharge and administer all other personnel actions.

EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Hours 40 hours per week, 5 days of the week

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • 2+ years in cloud operations, designing solutions leveraging public cloud IaaS and PaaS.
  • 6+ years working in technical software or infrastructure engineering teams.
  • Configuration management experience using automation products like Azure Automation, PowerShell DSC, Chef, Ansible, Salt Stack, Puppet, etc.
  • IaC automation provisioning experience using products (e.g., Azure Resource Manager Templates, Terraform, UCS Director, VMware, AWS CloudFormation, etc.)
  • Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker).
  • Experience with object-oriented programming and development patterns.
  • Application and infrastructure monitoring implementation and configuration.
  • Experience in developing or participating in cloud migration strategies.
  • Designing and reporting metrics and dashboards to drive SLA compliance.
  • Knowledge and experience in ITIL framework-based operations and reporting.
  • Advanced large-scale server and network management technology.
  • Procedure and policy design, documentation, and dissemination.
  • Automation and analysis of performance and reliability data.
  • Understanding of global network design and inter-networking.
  • Security engineering, server and network hardening, auditing, and reporting.
  • Participate in vendor and contract negotiation.
  • Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and verbal and written communication skills.
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior healthcare experience would be a plus.
  • BA in a computer related field preferred but not required
  • Java development
  • Terraform and Ansible experience
  • Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions experience with emphasis on repos and pipelines.
  • Automation experience with multiple public cloud vendors including Azure and AWS.
  • Observability and monitoring experience.
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA, VMware VCP, AWS Professional or Azure MCSA/MCSE, Jenkins Certified Engineer, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Microsoft Azure DevOps Solutions Certification
  • Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions experience with emphasis on repos and pipelines.
  • Automation experience with multiple public cloud vendors including Azure and AWS.
  • App Dynamics experience.
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco CCNA, VMware VCP, AWS Professional, Azure MCSA/MCSE, Jenkins Certified Engineer, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or Microsoft Azure DevOps Solutions Certification.

The physical and mental requirements along with the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

Office: While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to reach, grasp, stand and/or sit for long periods of time (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk and hear; occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet, with frequent interruptions and multiple demands.

EVERSANA is committed to providing competitive salaries and benefits for all employees. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $121,000 to $169,500 and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S.  The base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position.  Compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, other job-related qualifications/skills, and geographic location (to account for comparative cost of living).  EVERSANA reserves the right to modify this base salary range at any time.
