This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer in the United States.
This role offers a chance to lead and shape the platform engineering landscape for a high-performing, remote-first engineering organization. You will drive improvements in deployment velocity, system reliability, observability, and developer experience, building infrastructure and tooling that empowers engineers to deliver software efficiently and confidently. This position requires a blend of technical excellence, leadership, and collaboration skills to optimize cloud architecture, automate processes, and enhance overall platform performance. · Lead platform engineering initiatives to improve deployment velocity, system reliability, and developer experience.
· Architect, configure, and optimize Kubernetes workloads, GitOps workflows, and cloud infrastructure in AWS.
· Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, ensuring repeatable, reliable, and automated deployments.
· Implement and maintain observability coverage using tools such as Datadog or Prometheus to monitor system health and performance.
· Reduce tooling and configuration complexity to maximize developer productivity.
· Drive cost optimization for cloud resources while maintaining high reliability.
· Foster a culture of shared ownership, clear documentation, and proactive problem-solving across engineering teams.
· Mentor and guide engineers in DevOps best practices, automation, and platform improvements.
Requirements
· Proven experience leading complex infrastructure or tooling migration efforts in platform engineering.
· Deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture, design patterns, and technologies.
· Strong experience with Kubernetes, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
· Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and GitOps tools (e.g., Spacelift, Flux).
· Proficiency with observability tools like Datadog or Prometheus.
· Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Experience managing cloud cost optimization, deployment standardization, and reliability improvements.
· Positive, team-oriented mindset and a genuine focus on improving developer experience.
· Bonus: Frontend or backend development skills, prior team leadership experience, AI tooling familiarity, or SQL/caching optimization experience.
