This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of security certifications, ensuring compliance, and optimizing related processes across the organization. You will lead planning, execution, and continuous improvement of certification programs such as ISO27001, SOC2, and NIST standards. Working closely with internal teams and external auditors, you will manage audit onboarding, preparation, and execution while driving process efficiencies that safeguard organizational integrity. The position requires strategic vision, technical expertise, and hands-on experience to enhance certification workflows and compliance programs. This is an opportunity to influence security strategy at a high level and ensure the organization meets rigorous industry standards.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead the lifecycle of security certifications including planning, execution, and continuous improvement of programs.
  • Define, implement, and operate compliance and audit processes while enhancing efficiency and reducing complexity.
  • Drive collaboration with internal teams to prioritize certification requests and manage workflow triage.
  • Manage audit onboarding, preparation, and external assessments, ensuring accurate reporting and timely delivery.
  • Coordinate continuous compliance audits related to export controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to maintain compliance with evolving security standards.
  • Own the delivery of certification roadmaps, including reporting, escalations, and communication with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, IT, Compliance, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in information security, compliance, or managing certification lifecycles.
  • Hands-on experience leading end-to-end certification processes, including scoping, implementation, audits, and renewals.
  • Proven track record of managing compliance audits with internal teams, external auditors, and certification bodies.
  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO27001, SOC2, NIST, CMMC, and export controls (ITAR/EAR/ACS IFR).
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with cloud security compliance for AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and analytical skills; experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Preferred: experience in Big 4 or advisory roles, mergers and acquisitions, or GRC implementation.
