As a Junior Staff Accountant for Series, you will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and general accounting tasks. You have a strong understanding of accounting principles, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivable (AR):
Prepare and send invoices to clients/customers in a timely manner.
Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding receivables.
Assist in the collection of overdue accounts, including corresponding with customers as needed.
Reconcile AR accounts and maintain accurate records of payments and credits.
Post cash receipts and prepare daily deposits.
Accounts Payable (AP):
Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payment.
Review and verify payment terms, ensuring accurate coding and approval process management.
Reconcile AP accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Maintain positive relationships with vendors and respond to any inquiries or payment issues.
Prepare and process employee expense reports.
General Accounting:
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
Maintain general ledger entries and ensure proper accounting treatment for various transactions.
Prepare account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
Support preparation of tax filings, audits, and other compliance requirements.
Assist with the preparation of internal and external reports as needed.
Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting support to management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or in progress).
1-3 years of accounting experience, with a focus on accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting softwareÂ
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP systems and accounting software, esp. bill.com and Quick books online.
Basic knowledge of tax and regulatory requirements.
Experience in technology and/or fast paced industry is a plus.
