As a Production Operations Engineer (ProdOps) you will be part of a team supporting the development, deployment, and maintenance of web applications ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance of our systems; monitoring and troubleshooting issues; and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance
- Collaborate with development teams to develop and maintain high-quality code, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices
- Design and implement automated monitoring and alerting tools to detect issues before they impact users
- Develop and maintain scripts to automate tasks, such as data backups, log collection, and system updates
- Work with infrastructure teams to ensure seamless deployment of applications into production environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to improve the overall production lifecycle
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical issues
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and recommend improvements to our production operations processes
Requirements
- US Citizenship and ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
- 1+ years of experience in Production Operations Engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack
- Good understanding of automated monitoring and alerting tools, including Nagios, Sensu, or Datadog
- Knowledge of containerization using Docker or similar technology, preferred
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
