We are looking for a Journeyman Software Developer responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications within an advanced software and edge solutions team. This role involves managing software development projects, performing detailed analyses, and ensuring the integration of advanced methodologies and tools. The ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in software development, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of software applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, and ensure best practices in coding standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing, including unit, integration, and system testing, to ensure software quality and functionality.
  • Debug and resolve complex software defects and issues.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation related to software development.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation.
  • Foster effective collaboration with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Utilize advanced software development tools and methodologies to support project requirements.
  • Integrate software development tools and methodologies into the workflow to improve efficiency and accuracy

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in software development or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in software development principles and methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., Java, C++, Python).
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with software development frameworks and libraries.
  • Experience with React software frameworks for frontend applications
  • Experience with backend database applications such as PostgresSQL databases
  • Experience integrating COTS software products and tools
  • In-depth understanding of the aerospace and defense industry.
  • Knowledge of DoD software development policies and requirements.


Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Work Environment & Remote Meeting Expectations: Our work environment operates on a remote/hybrid model, balancing flexibility with the need for in-person collaboration. Employees are expected to work in-office on designated days to foster engagement with the team. Outside of these days, employees may telework with supervisor approval, provided they adhere to communication protocols and effectively fulfill their work responsibilities. Travel may be required to customer and subcontractor sites, as well as other office locations.

 

For those in remote roles, active participation in video meetings is an essential part of job responsibilities. Employees must maintain a professional presence on camera, ensure a stable internet connection, and engage in discussions as needed. Video meetings play a crucial role in team collaboration, alignment, and effective communication across distributed teams.
