Java Software Engineer
📍 Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid – 2 days/week onsite required from Day 1)
đź”’ Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder required
💵 Salary: $100k – $110k + full benefits package
Position Summary
Davis Technology Management is seeking a seasoned Java Software Engineer to join one of our long-term enterprise clients in Phoenix.
This is a full-time W2 consulting role onsite with a well-established 100+ year old company. You’ll collaborate closely with a team of 5 onsite, with a larger offshore team for support. Their projects support a large portfolio of applications with varied tech stacks. This role requires strong communication and collaboration skills.
Mandatory Skills
The role requires solid professional experience in Java, Spring and AWS cloud-native development. The chosen candidate will have hands-on experience building serverless applications (mandatory), working with modern Java frameworks, and integrating a broad range of AWS services.
Ideal experience will include:
Strong expertise with Java/J2EE technologies
Hands-on development using:
Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA
REST APIs & Microservices
Oracle and PL/SQL, RDBMS
React (front-end integration)
Strong DevOps knowledge:
Maven, GitHub, Jenkins, Tomcat, Linux/Unix
Cloud-native development on AWS, including:
Lambda, EC2, S3, API Gateway, Route53, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch
Experience with serverless architecture is mandatory
Familiar with message brokers like JMS / ActiveMQ
Exposure to AI-enhanced developer tools (e.g., Cursor AI) is a plus
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance applications
Design and implement cloud-native solutions using a wide range of AWS services
Utilize tools like Cursor AI for faster development and better code quality
Collaborate across cross-functional teams to define and build new product features
Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, and related DevOps tools
Ensure performance, availability, scalability, and secure development practices
Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and help drive continuous improvement
Engage in production support rotations when needed
Work closely with business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver quality solutions
Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate
