Work Arrangements:

This role can have a Hybrid or Remote work schedule. Candidates who live near one of our office locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).  Candidates who do not live near an office will have a remote work schedule, with the expectation of coming into an office as business needs arise. 

Responsibilities: 

The Business IT Analyst position is an exciting opportunity to work directly with external Employee Benefits (EB) customers to enable strategic data connections with their Enrollment and HRIS platforms. This role partners with external clients, technology platform vendors, and internal EB stakeholders—including Operations, Implementation, Sales, Claims, Client Relationship Managers, and IT—to drive consultative conversations and determine optimal data solution strategies.

The Business IT Analyst is responsible for providing consultative and technical support for Application Program Interface (API) connections that support The Hartford’s Digital Online Evidence of Insurability (EOI) services. Success in this role requires strong relationship-building, troubleshooting, critical thinking, and project management skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Serve as the primary contact for customer communications, issue resolution, and day-to-day support related to digital online EOI services
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external clients, technology platform partners, and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrate knowledge of services and products offered through Hartford’s client solutions
  • Provide regular internal and external communications to represent the team and set clear customer expectations
  • Understand Hartford Employee Benefit enrollment and EOI services and effectively communicate offerings to customers
  • Deliver consultative support for complex customer implementations involving API and SSO data exchange with various enrollment platforms
  • Lead integration, configuration and testing activities with customers and HR Tech platforms
  • Collaborate with internal and external technology partners to troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance the digital online EOI experience
  • Perform system testing to support enhancements, releases, and ongoing initiatives
  • Manage and coordinate security certificate updates with internal and external partners
  • Maintain flexibility to support security and enhancement updates during off-business hours
  • Leverage AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, GenAI platforms) to improve operational workflows and efficiency
  • Apply strong attention to detail to conduct root cause analysis and resolve issues effectively

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Employee Benefit Products
  • Familiar with group enrollment processes, including Evidence of Insurability (EOI)
  • Experience working with HR Tech platforms
  • Proven project management experience
  • Understanding of AGILE methodology
  • Prior experience in creating and executing test plans for releases and enhancements
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage a complex workload
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing and resolving technical issues
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external business partners
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with integration technologies including:
    • Web Services, XML, XSLT, SOAPUI, JSON, WSDL, JBOSS, Datapower, Siteminder, Cloud Connect
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with Web Service APIs

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$82,400 - $123,600
