Why This Role is Exciting

The IT Applications Administrator is a hands-on role focused on the design, implementation, governance, administration, and maintenance of the critical IT applications used across the company. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and optimal utilization of various software solutions, including productivity suites, collaboration tools, and a growing portfolio of AI solutions. Crucially, you'll also be a key player in cost management and license optimization, driving FinOps principles to foster financial accountability for cloud and application spend. Reporting to IT leadership and working cross-functionally with stakeholders across the business, this role will play a key part in supporting AuditBoard's strategic business objectives through effective application administration & management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer Core SaaS: Lead the configuration and maintenance of critical platforms (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Atlassian, Slack, Lucidchart) while serving as the expert escalation point for the IT Support team.

  • Govern Enterprise AI: Drive the secure design, implementation, and management of AI tools (Gemini, NotebookLM, Slack AI, OpenAI) in close partnership with IT Architecture and Engineering.

  • Resolve Escalations: Provide rapid troubleshooting and proactive support for complex application issues to minimize downtime and maximize user productivity.

  • Manage Identity & Access: Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls, coordinating closely with InfoSec and Endpoint Management.

  • Build the Knowledge Base: Create and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and best practices to empower IT Support and foster cross-team knowledge sharing.

  • Deliver Cross-Functional Solutions: Partner with business stakeholders and IT teams to identify technology needs and implement impactful applications.

  • Evolve the Tech Stack: Evaluate and implement new IT applications and feature releases to support AuditBoard's broader IT roadmap.

  • Drive FinOps & Cost Management: Utilize KPIs to optimize SaaS licensing and manage costs, ensuring financial accountability for cloud and application spend.

  • Champion Innovation: Monitor emerging SaaS and AI trends, bringing fresh insights and modernization opportunities to the IT organization.

  • Design Processes Autonomously: Build, document, and execute core IT workflows from scratch, such as establishing security assessments for new applications and integrations.

  • Manage Projects Independently: Operate with high autonomy, successfully balancing deep-work strategic initiatives with daily operational requests.

  • Execute at Pace: Consistently deliver results at the velocity required by a fast-growing, mid-market SaaS organization.

  • Initiate Strategic Alignment: Actively drive conversations with Security, Engineering, and Finance to unblock projects and mature internal systems.

Attributes for a Successful Candidate

  • Relevant Experience: 3+ years in IT, including 2+ years in IT application administration. Experience at a fast-growing, mid-market SaaS or technology company is highly preferred.

  • SaaS Portfolio Expertise: Proven administration of core collaboration and productivity suites, including Google Workspace, Atlassian (Jira, Confluence), and other enterprise SaaS tools.

  • AI Governance: Strong understanding of Google AI technologies (Gemini, NotebookLM) and experience designing, implementing, and governing emerging AI solutions (Slack AI, OpenAI).

  • FinOps & Scale: Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of SaaS solutions for a remote/hybrid workforce, with a strong focus on cost management and license optimization.

  • Identity & Access Management: Deep experience managing user lifecycles, permissions, and access controls using enterprise identity platforms (Microsoft Entra ID / Azure AD strongly preferred).

  • Automation Mindset: Proven experience automating routine IT and IAM workflows via API scripting or identity workflow tools.

  • Pace & Autonomy: Self-driven with a strong sense of urgency. You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, manage your own project queue, and can pivot quickly without getting bogged down by ambiguity.

  • Proactive Communication: You do not wait for step-by-step instructions. You actively identify gaps, propose solutions, and engage cross-functional stakeholders to get things done.

  • Collaborative & Customer-Facing: A highly collaborative mindset with the ability to manage change, communicate effectively across the organization, and work seamlessly alongside the IT Support team.

  • Continuous Learner: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the agility to quickly learn and adapt to new applications, technologies, and processes.

Our Company Values

  • Customer obsession: It starts and ends here. Consistently ask yourself how what you’re doing creates value for our customers. It’s a mindset.

  • Gritty resilience: Make it happen. Find a way. Move fast, stay positive, and do what it takes.

  • Drive innovation: Create the future. Continuously improve what exists and invent what’s next.

  • Win, together: One team. No silos, no egos. Drive to be the best and support each other’s success.

  • Growth mindset: 10x, not 10%. Think in orders of magnitude, not increments. Seek feedback, learn, and improve.
