Company Description

An enterprise client is seeking an experienced Insurance Regulatory Reporting Subject Matter Expert to partner with their product marketing team and provide deep practitioner insights to support strategic initiatives in the insurance regulated reporting space. This engagement is designed for a current or former financial/statutory reporting leader from the insurance industry who brings strong domain expertise across GAAP, statutory reporting, and insurance finance operations. While the work supports product marketing and go-to-market strategy, no prior marketing experience is required — only deep industry knowledge and practical insight.

Job Description

As a Insurance Regulatory Reporting Subject Matter Expert, you will:

1. Advise on integration strategies between insurance regulatory filing vendors and financial reporting workflows, including data handoffs, validation processes, and operational ownership.
2. Provide guidance to product teams on build vs. partner decisions grounded in real-world insurer operating models.
3. Support sales teams with deal sequencing, buyer engagement strategy, and industry-specific context for complex insurance opportunities.
4. Participate in client-facing calls to provide practitioner insights and validate selling motions across finance, actuarial, and risk teams.
5. Develop competitive intelligence across statutory, GAAP, actuarial, capital, solvency, and risk reporting solutions.
6. Identify buying patterns, incumbent tool strengths/limitations, and provide win/loss insights.
7. Help define and validate risk reporting bundle strategies, including target buyers, integration points, and expansion sequencing.
8. Review and prepare documents, presentations, and strategy materials in collaboration with product marketing.
9. Provide structured feedback and thought leadership that can be scaled internally across sales, marketing, and product teams.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you need:

1. 15–20+ years of professional experience.
2. 10+ years within insurance or financial services in highly regulated environments (life, annuity, or P&C).
3. Experience serving in roles such as VP Finance, Controller, Deputy CAO, Head of Finance Operations, Chief Audit Executive, or similar leadership roles.
4. Deep expertise in GAAP, statutory accounting, and insurance regulatory reporting.
5. Experience with finance transformation initiatives or enterprise system modernization.
6. Big 4 or national audit/advisory foundation preferred.
7. Exposure to LDTI or major accounting standard implementations.
8. Familiarity with governance, controls, SOX, enterprise risk, or IT audit environments.
9. Experience working across finance, actuarial, and risk functions.
10. Strong communication skills and ability to translate complex practitioner realities into structured insights.
