This role sits at the foundation of a high-growth fintech platform that processes sensitive, real-time financial transactions at scale. You will be responsible for designing, building, and operating the core cloud infrastructure and systems that power all engineering teams. The work spans across cloud architecture, databases, observability, and production reliability for systems that handle real monetary flows. You will collaborate closely with backend and product engineers to translate business and technical needs into scalable infrastructure solutions. This is a hands-on, high-impact position in an early-stage environment where reliability, speed, and ownership are critical. You will play a key role in ensuring platform stability while enabling rapid product development. The role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys building foundational systems from the ground up.
Accountabilities:- Design, build, and operate scalable cloud infrastructure, databases, and core platform systems that support engineering teams across the organization.
- Own and continuously improve cloud environments, infrastructure-as-code practices, databases, and observability tooling to ensure reliability and performance.
- Partner with backend, frontend, and cross-functional teams to translate product and engineering needs into robust infrastructure capabilities.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues related to scalability, performance, and system reliability.
- Contribute to cross-functional initiatives that connect the end-to-end product experience, from checkout flows to analytics and reporting systems.
- Develop and maintain clear technical documentation, including system architecture, infrastructure workflows, and operational runbooks.
- Support a strong engineering culture focused on operational excellence, continuous improvement, and shared ownership of systems.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or similar roles supporting production systems at scale.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS or equivalent cloud platforms.
- Solid background in database management and optimization, particularly with Postgres or similar relational databases.
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or equivalent technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex production issues.
- Comfort working in fast-paced, early-stage or high-growth environments with evolving requirements.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across engineering and product teams.
- Resourceful and proactive mindset with a strong focus on execution and end-user impact.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity is a plus.
- Experience in fintech, payments, or regulated systems handling sensitive financial data is a strong plus.
