ABOUT THE ROLE
As the sole Infrastructure Engineer at Freed, you will have outsized impact and establish the core of an important function as our company grows. We prefer simple architectures, so most of our system runs in a TypeScript monolith vs. microservices or serverless-oriented designs. Our engineering culture emphasizes speed, end-to-end ownership, responsibility, and independence, attracting top-tier talent and promoting exceptional performance.

HOW YOU’LL HAVE IMPACT:

  • Manage and expand cloud infrastructure (Azure, Kubernetes), putting in place IaaC best practices

  • Implement observability instrumentation, dashboards and alerts to monitor product health

  • Collaborate with engineers on product teams for new infrastructure needs or dev experience improvements

  • Implement security requirements (HITRUST and SOC2) and collaborate with Technical Program Manager for audits

  • Maintain databases (PostgreSQL, Redis) with backups, migrations, and security/privacy controls while monitoring performance and stability

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • 7+ years of experience in a SRE, Software Engineering, Production Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering or related roles

  • Strong proficiency with SQL, Git, Kubernetes, Bash, and Networking (DNS, SSL, IP)

  • Familiarity with Azure, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Github, and VSCode

  • Security-oriented mindset and experience implementing security best practices
