The Opportunity
The Information Security Analyst is responsible for securing the company's systems and applications, identifying potential weaknesses, assessing risk and outlining remediation strategies. Perform ongoing monitoring and threat analysis, identify potential IT security incidents and escalate information to appropriate staff.  Assess vulnerability information from all sources (both internal and external) and promptly apply applicable mitigation techniques, conduct vulnerability analysis and assessments across the entire enterprise in support of operations and maintenance activities, and develop mitigation and remediation plans as a result of vulnerability assessment findings. Incumbent will leverage systems and network knowledge to integrate appropriate security functions into the operational environment, using innovative scripting techniques.Â
Day in the Life
Resolve customer escalations involving phishing, malware, and anomalous network or server behavior; utilize technical and customer skills to identify security problems, policy violations and high-risk threats; use independent judgment to resolve issues in a timely manner before escalation is neededÂ
Monitoring and investigating suspicious activity
Maintain security awareness related to information security among the workforce members Â
Arrange and administer security measures to restrict unauthorized use of data systems and databases Â
Monitor and maintain the Information Security ticket queue Â
Maintain and administer the corporate security tools, including: Endpoint Malware Detection, Email SPAM Gateways, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Internet Proxy, Network Malware Gateways, Â IPS/IDS Â plunkÂ
Monitor, configure and upgrade the necessary controls and procedures to cost-effectively protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent modification, disclosure or destruction; monitor systems and security tools for security alerts and escalate as needed Â
Update existing departmental documentation and create documentation for new processes Â
Assist with other departmental initiatives such as performing discovery on new technology and leveraging scripting languages to automate manual processes; develop and implement ideas and/or suggestions for current process improvement  Â
Participate in risk assessments and risk management planning related to the information security features of systems, networks, and related administrative activities Â
Participate in the review and monitoring of assessments, plans, implementations, operations, and usage related to information security throughout the organization Â
Participate in disaster recovery, contingency planning, and testing for information systems in the organization Â
Coordinate any security investigations and execute preventive measures Â
Work in a team environment ensuring that departmental SLAs and other time and quality commitment KPIs are met at all times Â
Ability to understand and interpret technical concepts and procedures; general understanding of platform/application-specific technology, such as intrusion detection, firewalls, host-hardening, vulnerability management, encryption, patch management and shell / web scripting
On-call for one week at a time every two months
Perform other duties as assignedÂ
Qualifications
Associates degree in Computer Science related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience in information technology required. 
Information technology or security certification (CISSP, SSCP, Security+) preferred.
Two (2) years’ experience supporting IT applications required. 
Two (2) years direct hands-on experience with administering Unix/Linux or Windows systems, and One (1) year working with IT security systems and/or tools required.Â
Experience with Rapid 7 IDR
Experience with Bitlocker or similar encryption tools
Experience with Proofpoint or similar tools for email security
Working knowledge of anti[malware tools such as Fidelis (or similar)
Experience in for performing 1st level analysis and interpretation of information from SOC systems, incident identification/analysis, escalation procedures, and reduction of false-positives Â
Demonstrated experience consistent with ISO 27001, ITIL and other controls that are applicable to network security monitoring/analysis, event escalation, cyber threat analysis, and vulnerability analysis Â
Ability to travel as needed to successfully perform position responsibilities; ability to serve on-call on a 24-hour basis Â
