Job Description

Our client, a global leader in digital payments and commercial solutions, is seeking an Implementation Consultant to support complex B2B commercial card and virtual payment implementations across North America.  This role will serve as a key delivery lead responsible for driving end-to-end implementation programs, coordinating cross-functional stakeholders, and ensuring successful client launches.

This is a highly collaborative role ideal for a program-minded consultant who can translate technical requirements into business outcomes while maintaining strong client engagement and project discipline.

The Details:

  • Location: Remote within the U.S. 
  • Duration: Approximately a 6-month consulting role with the possibility of extension (must be able to work on Blend’s W2)

What you’ll do:

  • Lead end-to-end implementation of complex commercial and virtual card programs for financial institution and FinTech partners.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, risk logs, and status reporting using project management best practices.
  • Coordinate across product, technology, client, and partner teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Serve as the primary implementation lead in issuer and partner meetings, providing clear status updates and managing expectations.
  • Translate technical concepts, root causes, and platform requirements into clear business-friendly communications.
  • Monitor project progress, customer feedback, and key milestones; proactively identify and mitigate risks.
  • Support technical migration activities and ensure readiness for program launch.
  • Deliver client and internal training sessions as needed.
  • Create and maintain implementation documentation, workflows, and operational artifacts.
  • Manage escalations and drive resolution of complex delivery issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve implementation quality, efficiency, and client experience.
  • Accurately track project progression within CRM and project management systems.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience (7–10+ preferred).
  • 8+ years of project/program management experience within payments, financial services, commercial card, B2B solutions, or information services.
  • Proven experience leading complex implementations using formal project management methodologies.
  • Experience in supporting corporate travel or virtual payment solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Consulting background or experience working in complex, matrixed organizations is highly valued.
  • PMP certification preferred.

Technical & Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of payments and data processing ecosystems.
  • Experience working with complex, integrated platforms.
  • Knowledge of secure data transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS) preferred.
  • Familiarity with API gateways and integrations is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
  • Strong project planning, prioritization, and multi-tasking capabilities.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent client communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong executive presence and presentation abilities.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-starter who can operate independently with minimal oversight.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams in non-hierarchical environments.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, deadline-driven delivery environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing customer expectations and resolving escalations.

Additional Information

The starting pay rate for this role is $50.00 per hour. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, training, and location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range and determining factors for compensation are considered for each individual circumstance.
