This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an I&C Engineer in United States.

This role is a high-impact engineering position focused on the design and oversight of advanced Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) systems used in nuclear power applications. You will contribute to the development of both safety-related and non-safety-related digital control systems that are critical to plant performance, safety, and regulatory compliance. The position involves working on complex engineering designs, ensuring alignment with strict Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requirements and industry standards. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to deliver robust and compliant system solutions. The environment is highly technical, structured, and quality-driven, requiring precision, accountability, and strong engineering judgment. This is a fully remote opportunity within the contiguous United States with occasional travel.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and contributing to the design, analysis, and delivery of complex I&C systems used in nuclear power applications. You will ensure compliance with regulatory standards while supporting engineering teams and external stakeholders across multiple project phases. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, reviewing, and validating I&C system design work products such as diagrams, specifications, engineering calculations, hazard analyses, and test criteria
  • Planning, organizing, and coordinating detailed engineering activities, including scope definition and scheduling
  • Translating functional requirements into complete system and component designs with consideration for interfaces, safety, and maintainability
  • Leading technical decision-making for system design and ensuring compliance with NRC regulatory criteria and industry codes
  • Supporting testing, installation, and validation of process control and automation systems
  • Providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and serving as a subject matter expert within project teams
  • Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and cross-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure design alignment
  • Acting as a technical interface with regulatory authorities, supporting audits, reviews, and requests for additional information

Requirements:

This position requires extensive experience in instrumentation and controls engineering within nuclear power or highly regulated industrial environments, along with deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks and system design principles. The ideal candidate is technically advanced, highly detail-oriented, and capable of leading complex engineering initiatives. Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited; power systems preferred)
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in nuclear power or systems engineering
  • Strong experience in I&C system design, testing, installation, and documentation
  • Deep understanding of NRC regulations, 10 CFR requirements, and nuclear safety standards
  • Familiarity with IEEE standards relevant to nuclear instrumentation and control systems
  • Ability to develop technical documentation, engineering analyses, and complex system designs
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage senior stakeholders and regulators
  • Experience in project coordination, cross-functional collaboration, and technical leadership
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply complex technical concepts in a highly regulated environment
  • Eligibility to work under U.S. Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810

Benefits:

  • Remote work within the contiguous United States
  • Competitive annual salary range: $113,955 – $178,237 (target: $127,104 – $153,401 based on experience)
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer contributions
  • Paid time off and flexible work arrangements
  • Opportunities for professional development and advanced technical training
  • Exposure to cutting-edge nuclear engineering and advanced energy systems
  • Collaborative, highly specialized engineering environment
  • Occasional travel for project and stakeholder engagement
