About the Role:

At 3E, we’re redefining what operational excellence means in a global, data-driven, and compliance-focused world. As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a hands-on HR Operations Manager to administer 3E’s U.S. benefits plans, oversee payroll processing for North America, and administer HR compliance programs across the U.S.

This role is all about execution, ownership, and continuous improvement. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our benefits and payroll programs run smoothly, accurately, and in full compliance with regulations, while also improving the processes, documentation, and service experiences that support them.

You’ll act as the primary liaison to our benefit providers and broker, ensuring service delivery expectations are met, and issues are quickly resolved. Your work will directly support both employee satisfaction and business continuity.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in ahigh-growth environment, someone who’s not only comfortable navigating ambiguity but also eager to roll up their sleeves and put structure in place. If you love building systems that work, taking full accountability for results, and working across teams to make things happen, this role is for you.

What You'll Do
  • Administer U.S. employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.), from enrollment through reconciliation and compliance
  • Oversee North American payroll operations, ensuring accurate and compliant pay cycles in partnership with a third-party provider
  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for payroll and benefits vendors, monitoring service levels, escalating issues, and driving performance
  • Maintain and update processes related to compliance (i.e., 401(k), HSA, ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, tax filings, year-end reports)
  • Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries clearly and professionally
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure data accuracy and operational alignment
  • Build process documentation (SOPs) and improve workflows for employee lifecycle transactions
  • Contribute to broader HR operations and compliance initiatives as the team evolves
  • Oversee U.S. leave management programs

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • 5+ years’ experience with HR operations, benefits, HR compliance and payroll
  • 2+ years of benefits administration experience in the U.S.
  • 2+ years of direct U.S. payroll experience
  • Experience with U.S. leave management (i.e. FMLA, ACA, CFRA, PDL, etc.)
  • Familiarity with U.S. labor laws and payroll/benefits regulations
  • Proven ability to own and improve operational processes
  • Experience managing third-party vendors or service providers
  • A detail-oriented approach with strong communication and follow-through
  • Comfort working in environments where not everything is clearly defined
  • Track record of success in fast-paced, evolving, or mid-sized companies
  • Experience managing or leading HR projects or programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have
  • Canadian payroll/benefits experience
  • Familiarity with UKG or similar HRIS systems
  • Experience with HR compliance reporting (e.g., AAP, EEO)
  • Background in a distributed or remote-first environment
  • Project leadership or informal people management experience
  • A continuous improvement mindset—you spot gaps and close them
