This senior-level tax leadership role focuses on advising high net worth individuals, families, trusts, and closely held businesses on complex tax planning and compliance matters. The position plays a key role in managing sophisticated engagements from planning through delivery, ensuring both technical accuracy and exceptional client service. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients navigating evolving federal, state, and local tax regulations, while also contributing to long-term wealth planning strategies. In this role, you will lead engagement teams, review complex returns, and ensure high-quality execution across multiple concurrent projects. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and highly client-facing, with strong emphasis on technical excellence, relationship-building, and leadership within the tax practice. Accountabilities:

Lead and manage complex tax engagements for high net worth individuals, trusts, estates, and closely held businesses, from planning through execution and delivery.
Review and oversee the preparation of intricate tax returns, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Advise clients on sophisticated tax planning strategies, including estate, gift, trust, investment, and business structuring considerations.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships by acting as a trusted advisor and delivering high-quality, responsive service.
Lead client meetings and presentations, clearly communicating technical tax concepts and strategic recommendations.
Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and team performance while ensuring profitability and efficient delivery.
Review and mentor junior staff, providing feedback, technical guidance, and supporting their professional development.

Requirements:

8+ years of progressive public accounting experience focused on high net worth tax compliance, planning, and consulting.
Active CPA license and strong academic background in Accounting or a related field.
Deep expertise in estate, gift, and trust taxation, including strong knowledge of grantor trust rules (IRC Sections 671–679).
Strong technical understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations and their application to complex client situations.
Proven experience managing multiple high-value engagements simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
Strong leadership skills with experience supervising, training, and reviewing the work of staff and senior associates.
Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to simplify complex tax concepts for diverse audiences.
Proficiency with tax software (such as CCH Axcess) and strong command of Microsoft Office tools.
