About the Role:

Medallion’s business is at a critical juncture as we accelerate our growth into enterprise hospitals and insurance payers. As the Head of Technical Solutions, you will be pivotal to the success of this next phase by leading the design and delivery of scalable, innovative technical solutions that address the complex needs of our enterprise clients. You will combine technical expertise with business acumen, exceptional cross-functional project execution, and a knack for connecting with customers to ensure they are happy and successful with Medallion. You will collaborate closely with every major function within the company and significantly influence our strategy, identifying opportunities to better serve our clients and expand our service offerings.

This role reports to the VP of Engineering and base compensation may land between $180,000-$210,000 In addition to base salary, Medallion offers equity, and benefits as part of the total compensation package. Many factors are considered when determining pay including: market data, geographic location, skills, qualifications, experience, and level.

Responsibilities:

  • Management: Manage a team of Technical Solutions Managers (four to start). Provide active coaching, support, and performance management. Generate training material and plans. Create staffing plans and hire new members.
  • Project delivery: Create and run processes for effective project execution, including collaborating with cross-functional partners in sales, implementations, operations, and account management.
  • Technical infrastructure: Ensure the team has all the technical tooling it needs to deliver on projects, actively engaging with both Medallion’s internal engineering team and external vendors.
  • Team strategy: Formulate team responsibilities, goals, and success metrics. Own commercial responsibilities like defining pricing and packaging for services.
  • Scoping: Directly engage with high-value customers on projects.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a technical role (software engineering, forward deployed engineering, data science, analytics, or equivalent)
  • 3+ years in a customer-facing role, preferably with enterprise clients and/or on strategic client projects
  • 2+ years of management experience 
  • Proficient with SQL + a general-purpose programming language (e.g., Python)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience at a rapidly growing SaaS company and/or a startup
