This fits in well with our core values of Autonomy, Competence and Belonging, as we want everyone to feel empowered and supported to do their best work.</div><h3>About The Role</h3>OpenLoop is looking for a Director of Procurement to join our team remotely or at HQ in Des Moines, IA. In this role, you will be responsible for leading company-wide sourcing, vendor management, and spend optimization efforts. You will build and scale a centralized procurement function that supports rapid growth while driving transparency, cost savings, and compliance—particularly with pharmacy procurement as a key operational focus.<h3>What You’ll Do:</h3><ul><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Develop and standardize a centralized procurement policy and process that promotes operational efficiency, spend visibility/controls, and compliance, integrating acquisitions as necessary.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Implement and optimize a new procurement software tool, ensuring configuration aligns with business needs and provides actionable reporting for leadership and department heads.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Lead annual budget planning processes in coordination with FP&A, aligning procurement strategy with financial goals.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Establish a collaborative framework with department heads to empower visibility and control of department-specific spend, vendor relationships, and budgeting.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Assess the current state of pharmacy procurement operations, systems, and supplier contracts.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Identify opportunities for consolidation and optimization of pharmacy purchasing activities to leverage combined volume for cost savings.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Develop and implement an inventory management system for pharmacies to support supply chain visibility and control.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Integrate pharmacy procurement into the corporate procurement matrix to enable unified visibility of company-wide spend and supplier data.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Work closely with the Compliance and Legal teams to ensure all procurement activities, vendor contracts, and policies meet regulatory and legal standards.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Partner with Legal to review and negotiate vendor contracts, ensuring appropriate risk mitigation language and service level agreements.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Other duties as assigned</li></ul><h3>Who You Are:</h3><ul><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPM, Lean Six Sigma) a plus.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">8–10+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain, including leadership roles in high-growth or multi-location environments.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Proven success designing and scaling centralized procurement operations and policies.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Strong knowledge of procurement software and spend management systems; experience with implementation is a plus.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or regulated industries strongly preferred.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Demonstrated ability to drive cost savings, process improvements, and supplier performance management.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Skilled in vendor negotiations, contract review, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Strategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-oriented approach.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.</li></ul><h2>Our Benefits</h2>In addition, for salaried positions you would also be eligible for:<ul><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Medical, Dental, and Vision plans</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Flexible Spending/Health Savings Accounts</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Flexible PTO</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">401(k) + Company Match</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Life Insurance, Pet insurance, and more</li></ul><div class="content-conclusion"> <hr>Sound like a good fit?
