About the role
Tidal Financial Group is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Head of Operations and Technology to architect, build and run the next generation of our ETF services platform. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned operations and technology leader with a COO mindset—someone who can drive firm-wide transformation by embedding AI, automation, real-time intelligence and cybersecurity into the core of our operational infrastructure. This role will redefine how we scale and grow exponentially. It goes far beyond tech delivery: we’re looking for a strategic partner who brings the vision and precision of a CTO, the operational knowledge and instincts of a COO, and the interpersonal confidence to represent Tidal in high-stakes client and industry conversations. You’ll be tasked with building from the inside out the operational foundations of the entire company —delivering systems, workflows, and insights that power our business and enhance the experience of every ETF client that we serve.
What you'll do
Technology-Led Operational Strategy
- Own the firm-wide operations and technology roadmap, emphasizing automation, artificial intelligence, scalability, security, and seamless cross functional integration.
- Design and implement a modern operating model that leverages digital infrastructure and artificial intelligence to accelerate fund launches, streamline trading workflows, and enhance compliance.
- Translate strategic objectives into enterprise tools, platforms, and frameworks that scale with the firm.
Operational Excellence & Process Innovation
- Reimagine operational workflows across the entire organization, including trading, fund administration, legal, and compliance through standardization, automation, and analytics.
- Build performance dashboards and real-time KPI tracking to foster accountability and service transparency.
- Implement SLAs and internal service frameworks to ensure predictability and execution quality.
Client Experience & Portal Strategy
- Spearhead the buildout of a secure, modern client portal for ETF issuers—offering real-time access to fund data, reporting tools, and documentation.
- Drive portal integration with internal systems (CRM, OMS, fund admin) to provide a unified, self-service client experience.
- Use client feedback to enhance usability, automation, and data visibility.
Leadership, Team Building & External Partnerships
- Lead and grow a high-performing team of technologists, operators, and project managers with a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Manage and negotiate with external vendors, developers, and tech providers to ensure alignment and platform continuity.
- Collaborate with client-facing teams and represent the firm in technology, operational, and client strategy discussions.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
- Oversee enterprise cybersecurity strategy, ensuring resilient protection of firm and client data.
- Champion best practices in identity and access management, encryption, threat monitoring, and vendor risk oversight.
- Lead recurring security audits and incident readiness exercises, establishing confidence with clients and regulators alike.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of progressive leadership in operations, technology, or product management—ideally in the ETF, asset management, or fintech sectors.
- Track record of building scalable technology systems and workflow automation.
- Deep knowledge of fund administration operations, trading workflows, and the investment industry regulatory landscape.
- Proven experience owning cybersecurity strategy and execution in regulated environments.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP) preferred.
Who You Are
- A transformational thinker—you see how technology can shape the future of operations and you’re ready to lead that evolution and future proofing the business.
- Client-ready and strategic—equally effective in front of clients, at the executive table, or deep in systems architecture.
- Hands-on yet high-level—able to roll up your sleeves while steering firm-wide operational performance.
- An integrator and collaborator—you break silos and align teams through systems, data, and communication.
- A builder at heart—of platforms, of processes, of teams, and of a more scalable, tech-forward financial enterprise
