This is a senior leadership role within a fast-scaling international digital business operating at the intersection of technology, social discovery, and global online platforms. You will be responsible for defining and executing the overall legal strategy across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring the organization operates in full compliance while enabling sustainable growth. The role combines strategic advisory responsibilities with hands-on legal oversight across corporate, commercial, regulatory, and intellectual property matters. You will play a key part in shaping governance frameworks and managing legal risk in a complex, multi-country environment. Working closely with executive leadership, you will help guide major business decisions from a legal and compliance perspective. This position is ideal for a business-oriented legal leader who thrives in fast-moving, global, and digital-first organizations.


Accountabilities:
  • Define and execute the global legal strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring proactive identification and mitigation of legal risks across operations.
  • Oversee compliance with applicable laws and regulations across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring governance frameworks are continuously updated and enforced.
  • Manage legal risk across contracts, employment matters, litigation, corporate structures, and other key operational areas.
  • Develop and implement intellectual property protection strategies, including trademarks, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets, while monitoring infringement risks.
  • Support corporate structuring and expansion, including the creation of new entities with appropriate legal safeguards.
  • Oversee financial reporting compliance from a legal perspective, coordinating audits and ensuring regulatory alignment with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to manage disputes, litigation, and complex legal matters effectively.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a Chief Legal Officer or VP Legal role within international or multi-jurisdictional organizations.
  • Strong expertise across corporate, contract, employment, intellectual property, and business law.
  • Proven experience in regulatory compliance and legal risk management in complex, fast-scaling environments.
  • Ability to manage litigation processes and coordinate effectively with external legal counsel.
  • Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align legal frameworks with business objectives.
  • Experience in corporate governance, international structuring, and legal operations management.
  • High level of English proficiency (C1+), with additional fluency in Russian considered a strong advantage.
  • Familiarity with legal tech tools, ERP systems, and data-driven decision-making environments is a plus.
