The Opportunity
The Contact Center Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources into our data warehouse. You will work closely with data analysts and business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that drive operational efficiency and improve customer satisfaction.
Day in the Life
Data Engineering:
Design and develop robust data pipelines using modern data engineering tools and technologies.
Extract data from diverse sources, including CRM systems, call center systems, and other relevant systems.
Transform data into a standardized format, ensuring data quality and consistency.
Load data into data warehouses and data lakes for analysis and reporting.
Data Modeling:
Develop data models that accurately represent the business domain and support reporting, and analytics needs.
Design and implement dimensional and analytical data models.
Data Integration:
Integrate data from various sources, resolving data inconsistencies and ensuring data integrity.
Develop and maintain ETL processes to automate data ingestion and transformation.
Data Quality:
Monitor data quality and implement data quality checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
Identify and resolve data quality issues.
Performance Optimization:
Optimize data pipelines and queries for efficient data processing and analysis.
Identify and implement performance improvements to ensure timely data delivery.
Collaboration:
Collaborate with data analysts, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Work closely with the data science team to support advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years’ experience as a data engineer.
Strong experience in data engineering, including ETL processes and data warehousing.
Proficiency in SQL and Python programming languages.
Experience with data integration tools like Informatica, Talend, or Apache Airflow.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Technical skills: Data processing, Data pipeline development (such as Apache Airflow), knowledge of ETL processes and tools, knowledge of Database management (relational and NoSQL databases), familiarity with Cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud), and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark).
Familiarity with programming languages (such as Python, Java), Data Manipulation tools (Pandas, SQL), Big data tools, and version control.
AI and ML skills: ML fundamentals, understanding of model deployment, and data preparation
Data Management and governance: Data quality, data governance, and security
Domain/industry knowledge data privacy, and regulatory compliance in AI projects
Soft skills: Communication and team collaboration, critical thinking
Understanding data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Perform other duties as assigned.
