This role blends hands-on game development expertise with a unique opportunity to contribute to next-generation AI training systems. You will leverage your experience in 2D or mobile game development to design realistic, production-like development tasks based on Cocos2d-x. The position focuses on creating structured scenarios involving gameplay logic, animations, UI, physics, and asset management to help evaluate and improve AI systems. You will also define evaluation standards and provide structured feedback to ensure consistency and quality in task design. Working remotely with flexible hours, you will operate in a highly collaborative and technical environment where game development knowledge directly shapes AI learning outcomes. This is an excellent opportunity for developers who enjoy both building games and mentoring through structured technical design.

Accountabilities:
  • Design realistic game development tasks using Cocos2d-x, including sprite handling, animations, UI systems, physics, and gameplay logic.
  • Create clear, structured prompts based on real-world game development scenarios.
  • Develop evaluation rubrics to assess solution quality and ensure consistency in task grading.
  • Execute and review development tasks within a controlled virtual environment to validate accuracy and realism.
  • Provide detailed feedback to improve task clarity, quality, and technical rigor.
  • Collaborate with teams to align task design with project goals and AI training requirements.
  • Ensure all scenarios reflect practical, real-world game development challenges.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of professional experience working with Cocos2d-x and C++.
  • Proven experience developing 2D or mobile games in production environments.
  • Strong understanding of scene graph architecture, action systems, and asset management in game engines.
  • Ability to break down complex game development problems into structured, solvable tasks.
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to clarity and precision.
  • Familiarity with Lua or JavaScript bindings in Cocos2d-x is a plus.
  • Experience in code reviews, mentoring, or technical guidance is an advantage.
  • Exposure to AI training, evaluation workflows, or data annotation processes is beneficial.

Benefits:

  • Fully remote contractor role with flexible working hours (~20 hours per week)
  • Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $50 to $120 depending on experience
  • Opportunity to apply real-world game development expertise to AI training systems
  • Work on practical, scenario-based challenges rooted in actual game production workflows
  • Flexible schedule supporting independent and asynchronous collaboration
  • Exposure to innovative AI development and evaluation processes
