Full Stack Software Engineer – Networking – NODA AI

Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)

Clearance Requirement: U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance

About NODA

NODA is a venture-backed technology company that is transforming how unmanned systems collaborate in complex, mission-critical environments. We are developing next-generation solutions that enable the autonomous orchestration of heterogeneous unmanned systems across air, sea, land, and space with vital applications in the defense, intelligence, and commercial sectors.

Our Full-Stack Engineers build the distributed software backbone that enables seamless communication and coordination across diverse unmanned platforms, creating unified orchestration experiences from real-time data pipelines to intuitive control interfaces.

Joining NODA means working on meaningful technology that pushes the boundaries of autonomy alongside a team that thrives on innovation, rapid iteration, and collaboration.

The Role

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you’ll work on our distributed orchestration platform—building everything from real-time data pipelines to intuitive, mission-ready control interfaces. You’ll collaborate with robotics, autonomy, and UI engineers, integrating diverse partner platforms into a unified orchestration environment, with opportunities to work across multiple domains.

This is a chance to work on high-impact, mission-critical systems that bridge advanced software engineering with real-world robotics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Networking background highly valued, including experience with real-time communications, mesh networking, or distributed systems

  • Design, develop, and maintain full-stack applications supporting real-time mission coordination

  • Build scalable APIs and backend services for high-throughput, low-latency operations

  • Create real-time data processing pipelines for multi-domain robotic telemetry

  • Implement performant, responsive UIs for complex data visualizations and operator control

  • Integrate AI-driven features into an intuitive user experience

  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines—robotics, autonomy, UI—to bring diverse systems together

  • Ensure operational resilience through rigorous testing, monitoring, and security practices

  • Contribute to architectural discussions and long-term technical vision

  • Support continuous deployment and maintain development infrastructure

Required Qualifications

  • Networking & Distributed Systems: Strong foundation in networking fundamentals, including the OSI model, TCP/IP protocols, and unicast vs. multicast communication. Proven experience with network infrastructure and architecture design, with proficiency in IP addressing (IPv4), subnetting, and cloud networking concepts such as VPN/VPC configuration. Hands-on knowledge of APIs, load balancers, DNS, and containerized microservices in distributed environments. Familiarity with secure networking practices (TLS, IAM, Zero Trust models) and performance optimization in constrained or low-bandwidth environments is highly desirable.

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience

  • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript

  • Expertise with React and modern frontend practices

  • Solid understanding of web fundamentals (HTML, CSS, HTTP, REST APIs, WebSocket)

  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)

  • Exposure to real-time data processing and streaming

  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative workflows

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • DevOps experience (CI/CD, Docker, AWS)

  • Agile development background

  • Testing frameworks and automation expertise

  • Experience with ROS, robotics, autonomous vehicles, or control systems

  • Familiarity with PX4 and MAVLink

  • Knowledge of web security best practices

  • Exposure to 3D web technologies (WebGL, Three.js)

  • Contributions to open-source projects

  • Experience with microservices architecture

  • Eligible and willing to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance

What We Offer

  • Hybrid work environment

  • Competitive pay

  • Flexible time off

  • Generous PTO policy

  • Federal holidays

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance

  • Free OneMedical membership

Why NODA?

  • Work on technology that directly impacts national security and operational capabilities

  • Collaborate with a mission-driven, high-caliber team

  • Build at the intersection of AI, robotics, and multi-domain operations

  • See your work deployed in real-world, high-stakes environments

  • Competitive compensation and growth opportunities

If you’re ready to push the boundaries of what autonomous systems can do—and make a real difference—we’d love to hear from you.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. All qualified individuals will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
