Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Architect to lead the architecture and front-end strategy for enterprise-grade websites and digital platforms. You’ll play a key role in defining technical direction, leading implementation efforts, and mentoring a talented team of developers. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology leadership, hands-on coding, and strategic collaboration.Â
In this role, you will also work closely with strategy, design, and backend teams and use cutting-edge technologies like Next.js, GraphQL, Typescript, and headless CMS platforms such as Contentful to shape the full-stack architecture of websites, ensuring quality, performance, and maintainability. As a hands-on leader, you will mentor front-end developers, perform code reviews, and guide projects from kickoff through launch. You will report to the CMS Technical Director.
This is a remote role. Employees within 90 min of our NY, MI, or IL offices may expect 1 day a week onsite.

ResponsibilitiesÂ
Architectural & Technical LeadershipÂ
Design and document front-end architecture for high-traffic, component-based websites using React and Next.jsÂ
Define front-end rendering strategies that align with design requirements, client goals, and scalabilityÂ
Evaluate and implement modern front-end tools, libraries, and design systemsÂ
Lead CMS integrations with headless and composable platforms such as Contentful, Sitecore, Sanity, or OptimizelyÂ
Ensure security, accessibility, performance, and general front-end best practices are accounted for and adhered toÂ
Hands-on ImplementationÂ
Lead front-end execution across multiple digital projects in parallelÂ
Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and delivery schedulesÂ
Write and review scalable, well-documented TypeScript code that meets standards and project timelinesÂ
Solve complex implementation challenges, both independently and collaborativelyÂ
Team & Client CollaborationÂ
Act as the technical point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholdersÂ
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to bring Figma prototypes to life with precision and responsivenessÂ
Partner with backend developers and business analysts to ensure APIs are built to support requirements and optimal front-end performance.Â
Translate business and user requirements into detailed technical solutionsÂ
Mentorship & Process ImprovementÂ
Mentor junior and mid-level front-end developers, fostering skill growth and knowledge sharingÂ
Define and enforce best practices across code quality, version control, testing, and deploymentÂ
Contribute to internal documentation, reusable components, and process enhancementsÂ
QualificationsÂ
5-7 years of in-depth knowledge and demonstrated use of React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3 to develop performant, accessible, and maintainable frontend solutions at scaleÂ
Proven experience with headless architecture and the Server-Client Rendering SpectrumÂ
Proven experience with API consumption (REST/GraphQL)Â
Proven experience in modular web development, using Atomic Design and StorybookÂ
Proven experience with CSS tooling such as CSS Modules, PostCSS, Sass, or LessÂ
Proven experience working across headless/composable CMS platforms like Contentful, Sitecore, Sanity and OptimizelyÂ
Proven experience with modern frontend hosting solutions like Vercel and NetlifyÂ
Experience with a JavaScript testing framework such as Mocha, Jest, or JasmineÂ
Experience with Webpack or similar build tools and module bundlersÂ
Skills in translating complex technical decisions for non-technical audiencesÂ
In-depth knowledge of browser/client discrepancies and supported featuresÂ
In-depth knowledge of website performance considerations and performance toolingÂ
In-depth knowledge of accessibility and WCAG standardsÂ
The annual salary range for this position is $113,000 - $182,850. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
