Who we are

Monterra is a seed-stage startup building software and AI to help electrical contractors design and win projects 10X faster — to expand EV charging, modernize electrical systems, and (literally) power the world. Check out this customer case study to read about Monterra in action.

Who you are

Requirements

  • You have 5+ YoE in a design role for B2B SaaS companies

  • You consider yourself a “full-stack” design generalist who spikes in web app UI/UX design (ie, "T-shaped" designer with depth in product design)

  • Your superpower is distilling complex user workflows into seamless designs

  • You’re excited about rolling up your sleeves and build mockups in Figma in the AM, but also take part in high-level product & design roadmap sessions in the PM

  • You thrive at digesting data from various sources - customer interviews, insights from sales/founders, desktop research, product analytics, etc. - to form a holistic understanding of customers & users

  • You get a kick out of co-designing through collaboration, and are comfortable with fast and frequent iteration cycles

  • You're skilled at switching between 80/20 mode and extreme pixel-perfect detail orientation depending on the project and task at hand

  • You have experience designing complex workflow software (eg, CAD, design & creative tools, enterprise SaaS, GIS/mapping platforms, etc.)

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with construction tech / software for the trades - eg, electrical contractors

  • Experience and interest in designing AI Agent systems

  • Experience with software that requires extensive multi-party/user collaboration

We encourage you to reach out even if you don’t meet every requirement!

What will you work on?

  • Create designs for new features and improve designs for existing features

  • Continuously identify UI/UX improvement opportunities across product

  • Build and scale design system

  • Lead discovery / feedback sessions with customers and sales

  • Collaborate with engineering team throughout design and implementation

  • Be team’s design go-to person across web, graphic, animation, and brand

  • Bring design & UX thought leadership to inform high-level strategic & product planning
