This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of Cresta. We are currently looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer (AI Agent) in United States.

This role places you at the intersection of cutting-edge AI technology and real-world customer impact. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will design, deploy, and optimize AI agents that solve complex problems in enterprise environments. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, product managers, and software engineers to implement scalable, high-performing AI solutions. This position requires strong technical skills, adaptability, and customer engagement, offering the opportunity to shape AI deployments while influencing the evolution of the underlying platform. You will also provide technical guidance, refine integrations with external systems, and iterate quickly based on feedback. Accountabilities:

  • Develop, configure, and deploy AI agents using advanced AI platforms and tools.
  • Integrate AI agents with external systems such as APIs, databases, and CRMs to ensure seamless workflows.
  • Optimize agent performance through fine-tuning, troubleshooting, and monitoring in complex enterprise environments.
  • Gather technical requirements from clients and internal stakeholders, translating business needs into AI agent solutions.
  • Conduct demos, present proof-of-concepts, and iteratively refine solutions based on user feedback.
  • Coordinate project milestones, create implementation plans, and ensure timely delivery while providing actionable feedback to engineering and product teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and engineers to maximize customer ROI and shape platform capabilities.
  • Serve as a technical advisor, guiding best practices for AI agent adoption, architecture, security, and scalability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development, AI/ML engineering, or system integration.
  • Proficiency in Python and Golang, with a strong ability to write clean, efficient code.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts; hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering preferred.
  • Knowledge of AI agent frameworks, function calling, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG); hands-on experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and DevOps practices including CI/CD, containerization, and monitoring.
  • Hands-on experience integrating systems via APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and collaborative skills.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data-driven approaches such as A/B testing and performance monitoring to refine AI solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments, partnering with PMs and engineers to translate real customer challenges into scalable solutions.
