The FPA Director will be responsible for preparing the company’s monthly and yearly forecasts and budgets. This individual will work closely with the CFO to understand the company’s historical performance and build on key assumptions and trends that may impact future performance. The FPA Director will work closely with operations and finance to ensure that all aspects of the business are taken into account when preparing budgets and forecasts that will aid in management’s decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of the annual budget and upload into ERP system (Datarails)
  • Preparation of the monthly rolling forecasts and plans
  • Document management's high level targets and communicate them to various segments and departments within the agency
  • Prepare monthly variance analyses - actuals vs. prior year vs. budget vs. forecasts
  • Manage the agency's cost control initiatives and communicate results to department leads
  • With assistance from Client Finance Director, report on staff plans vs. utilization
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly board decks or leadership reports
  • Hedging of foreign transactions
  • Management decision support which may include:
    • Analysis of historical financials
    • Variance explanations
    • Risks and opportunities
    • KPI reporting
  • Other projects may include
    • M&A analysis and acquisition proposals
    • Process and workflow optimization
    • Supporting the President and CFO with other reporting requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 1 year in a leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or related field
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting
  • Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Strong analytic abilities
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional ability to use Excel
  • Previous experience with Data Rails, and Netsuite preferred
  • Candidates residing in the Eastern US or Central US timezones required
