About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Field Services Engineer to join our 100% travel team at Artisight. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, client-facing role and is committed to ensuring the highest levels of system uptime and performance.

As a Field Services Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our technology systems at client locations — primarily within hospitals and clinical environments. You will work directly with clinical and technical staff to ensure seamless operation of our solutions.

What you'll do

  • Travel to client sites nationwide to perform on-site installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware and software systems, including mobile carts, workstations, and associated technology.
  • Provide basic support and troubleshooting for Ubuntu Linux systems, Docker containers, and network connectivity.
  • Support and maintain video streaming solutions used in clinical settings.
  • Perform light mechanical repairs on carts and devices as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with client IT staff, clinical engineers, and hospital personnel to ensure minimal disruption to patient care activities.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of and adhere to strict hospital protocols, especially in sensitive environments like Operating Rooms (ORs) and in-patient wards.
  • Document all service activities, including issues encountered, steps taken for resolution, and parts used.
  • Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through professional service and timely issue resolution.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in a technical field service, IT support, or related role.
  • Working knowledge of Ubuntu Linux, Docker, and basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, etc.).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows workstations and related peripherals.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical tools for hardware installation and repair.
  • Familiarity with video streaming services and AV system basics.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively while on the road.
  • Understanding of hospital workflows and environments, including exposure to clinical spaces such as inpatient units and ORs.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds of equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to pass background checks and health screenings required by hospital clients, and ability to travel 100% of the time (including overnight stays).

Nice to haves

  • Previous experience in a healthcare technology or hospital IT setting.
  • Certifications in Linux, Networking, or IT support (e.g., CompTIA, LPIC, etc.).
  • Experience with mobile medical cart systems or clinical AV/IT deployments.
  • Experience with EMRs and HL7
