Job Description

As a Field Service Engineer for Agilent, you will work at a variety of labs, so having an appetite for continuously learning about new instruments, software and consumables is key. Applying your communication skills, creativity and can-do attitude is essential. The ability to help with solving customer problems and a commitment to deliver the highest-level of customer service is how you will build customer success.

  • Responsible for supporting customers through on-site activities such as installation, implementation, maintenance and repair of company and multi-vendor systems solutions which may include hardware, software and networking products as well as operating systems.
  • Installs and optimizes hardware/software/network products and configurations at customer sites.
  • Diagnoses and resolves product performance problems.
  • Performs maintenance and repair services.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventive maintenance and configurations, which may impact product performance.
  • Proactively responds to potential equipment or software issues to prevent unplanned interruption of customers' business.
  • Delivers (does not design) fully integrated solutions, which may include peripherals, communications, operating systems and applications software.
  • Serves as an internal resource on technical issues and manages product escalations Collaborates with Agilent teams such as Support, Sales, Marketing and R&D to provide solutions to customers.
  • May have knowledge of third-party products.
  • Deliver internal technical training and maintenance seminars and workshops for field engineers or customers.
  • Train other field engineers or customers.
  • Calibrate equipment on-site for large volume customers.
  • Qualify leads

Note: This is the multistate territory that covers NY, CT, and Northern NJ. The ideal candidate will reside in Upstate New York such as Albany or Syracuse area with the ability to commute to customers sites throughout the territory 3-4 days a week.

Qualifications

Job Requirement: Meet Agilent approved customer/vendor credentialing requirements necessary to gain site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by customer/vendor and may include but are not limited to post-employment background checks, various forms of drug testing, vaccinations, fingerprinting, proof of valid identification, and/or adherence to customer-specific substance abuse programs. Your consent to participate in customer requested screening is a requirement of this position.

  • Bachelor’s or master's degree within the science field -- e.g. chemistry, analytical chemistry biochemistry, biotechnology or similar highly preferred; may consider applicants with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience with working experience with Spectroscopy Instrumentation.
  • Cary UV-VIs, Atomic Absorption (AA), ICP-OES, ICP - MS is highly preferred.
  • Liquid or Gas Chromatography (LC or GC) bench or repair experience is a plus.
  • Experience with instrumentation applications, software and/or troubleshooting instrumentation samples or workflows is highly desired.
  • Position may require up to 75% travel

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Applications for this job will be accepted until at least December 24, 2024 or until the job is no longer posted. In the US, this position is eligible for reimbursement for personal vehicle usage.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $33.23 - $51.92/hr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
