This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Executive Director, DevOps & Platform Engineering in United States.

This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and operationalizing a high-performance engineering platform that enables scalable, reliable, and efficient software delivery across the organization. You will lead DevOps, platform engineering, developer tooling, and cloud cost optimization initiatives, ensuring engineering teams are equipped with modern, automated, and intelligent systems. The role sits at the intersection of technology leadership and execution, driving improvements in velocity, reliability, and cost efficiency. You will partner closely with IT Operations and Engineering leadership to establish standards, improve developer experience, and embed AI-driven capabilities into the software development lifecycle. This is a highly strategic and hands-on position where you will define how engineering teams build, release, and operate software at scale. The environment is fast-moving, transformation-focused, and centered on continuous improvement and measurable outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and evolve the DevOps strategy, including platform reliability, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, release automation, and deployment enablement.
  • Lead development tooling strategy and governance, including platforms such as JIRA, Jellyfish, CI/CD toolchains, and internal productivity and AI-enabled engineering tools.
  • Define and implement engineering performance metrics and telemetry (e.g., DORA metrics, SLOs, SLAs, reliability, and delivery performance dashboards).
  • Drive FinOps and cloud cost optimization initiatives, including usage optimization, infrastructure right-sizing, and cost transparency across engineering teams.
  • Build and scale engineering dashboards and observability systems to provide real-time insights into cost, performance, and delivery health.
  • Standardize engineering processes across squads, including SDLC practices, release management, quality gates, and change control frameworks.
  • Improve developer experience by reducing friction through automation, self-service capabilities, and streamlined onboarding and deployment workflows.
  • Operationalize AI across the software development lifecycle, including AI-assisted coding tools and intelligent workflow integration with governance controls.
  • Partner with IT Operations, IT Development, and cross-functional leaders to align platform strategy with enterprise goals and ensure operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • Senior-level leadership experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering roles with a strong builder-operator mindset.
  • Proven experience owning and scaling CI/CD platforms, infrastructure automation, and developer tooling ecosystems.
  • Strong background in engineering tools such as JIRA, engineering analytics platforms (e.g., Jellyfish), and internal productivity systems.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing AI-enabled development workflows with measurable adoption and governance practices.
  • Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure and FinOps practices, including cost optimization, visibility, and accountability frameworks.
  • Experience defining and operationalizing engineering metrics, telemetry, and performance scorecards to drive decision-making.
  • Strong ability to influence across IT Operations, Engineering, and leadership teams in complex organizational environments.
  • Proven track record of improving engineering velocity, reliability, and operational efficiency at scale.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to drive alignment across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Benefits:

  • Competitive executive-level compensation aligned with experience and leadership scope.
  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Access to wellness programs and employee support resources.
  • Flexible remote work environment supporting work-life balance.
  • Opportunities to shape enterprise-wide engineering strategy and platform transformation.
  • Exposure to large-scale DevOps modernization and AI-driven engineering initiatives.
  • Inclusive and diverse workplace culture focused on equity and collaboration.
  • Professional growth in a high-impact leadership role driving measurable engineering outcomes.
