This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Executive Director – Chief Revenue Officer in United States.

This executive leadership role is responsible for driving the full revenue transformation of an education-focused organization transitioning from a primarily philanthropic model to a scalable, revenue-generating edtech business. The position serves as the chief commercial architect for the Academies division, owning strategy, execution, and team leadership across sales and business development functions. It requires a strong blend of strategic vision and hands-on deal execution, operating as a “player-coach” in a small, fast-evolving organization. The role plays a central part in building go-to-market structures, commercial discipline, and revenue growth engines across K-12 and education technology markets. Working closely with senior leadership, the executive will help shape organizational direction while directly contributing to revenue outcomes. This is a high-impact opportunity for a leader who thrives in transformation environments and enjoys building scalable commercial models from the ground up.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the transformation from a philanthropic funding model to a structured, revenue-generating commercial organization within the Academies division.
  • Define and execute go-to-market strategies, sales processes, and revenue generation frameworks across edtech and K-12 education markets.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 20 professionals while maintaining the ability to directly close strategic deals when needed.
  • Drive business development initiatives across Social-Emotional Learning and related academy programs to expand revenue streams.
  • Oversee sales performance, pipeline development, and revenue targets while ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Act as a hands-on leader, balancing strategic planning with active involvement in key opportunities and customer engagements.
  • Foster cross-functional collaboration across a small, agile organization, leveraging university-wide resources effectively.
  • Guide the organization through change management and strategic pivots while maintaining team engagement and execution discipline.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in EdTech, education services, or K-12 publishing, with strong understanding of the K-12 sales ecosystem.
  • Strong background in sales leadership, business development, and go-to-market strategy within education or related industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead revenue generation initiatives from strategy through direct deal execution.
  • Experience scaling organizations or business units from non-revenue or philanthropic models into commercial operations.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with a “player-coach” mindset and experience managing and developing mid-sized teams.
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-changing, high-growth, or transformation-focused environments.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Preferred: experience in edtech scaling, K-12 publishing, or education-focused SaaS environments.

Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary ranging from $160,000 to $180,000+, depending on experience.
  • Performance-based incentives and additional variable compensation opportunities.
  • Fully remote work flexibility within the United States.
  • Opportunity to lead a major commercial transformation in a growing edtech organization.
  • High autonomy and executive-level influence over revenue strategy and execution.
  • Collaborative environment with access to broader university resources and support.
  • Significant growth potential within a mission-driven education-focused organization.
  • Regular travel opportunities for stakeholder engagement and business development.
