The Executive Claim Analyst will play a critical role in managing highly complex and high-value casualty claims while delivering exceptional service and strategic guidance.
This position focuses on severe bodily injury, liability, and coverage matters requiring advanced technical expertise and sound judgment.
The role combines independent claim ownership, complex investigation, negotiation, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
You will work closely with legal partners, vendors, underwriting teams, and leadership to develop effective claim strategies and achieve optimal outcomes.

Accountabilities:

The Executive Claim Analyst will oversee the management of complex casualty claims from investigation through resolution, ensuring accurate evaluations, regulatory compliance, and outstanding service. The role requires strong ownership of claim strategy, technical decision-making, and collaboration across business functions.

  • Manage a portfolio of catastrophic and complex bodily injury claims, including first-party and third-party matters, while maintaining high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.
  • Conduct detailed coverage analysis, interpret policy language, and make timely coverage decisions in accordance with applicable regulations and requirements.
  • Develop and execute investigation strategies, including evidence preservation, witness evaluation, liability assessment, and defense preparation.
  • Evaluate damages, establish appropriate reserves, negotiate settlements, and resolve claims within established authority levels.
  • Prepare detailed claim evaluations, large loss reports, and strategic updates for leadership review.
  • Maintain accurate claim and policy administration records while ensuring data integrity across assigned files.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors, including independent adjusters, defense attorneys, and coverage counsel, while monitoring budgets and costs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert by sharing technical knowledge, mentoring colleagues, and supporting internal training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, agency, and business teams to provide casualty expertise and support broader organizational objectives.
  • Participate in claim roundtables and strategic discussions with peers, executives, and key stakeholders to provide recommendations on claim value and resolution strategy.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced casualty claims professional with extensive expertise handling complex exposures, strong analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills. This role requires a high level of independence, technical knowledge, and commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes.

  • 10+ years of direct Property and Casualty insurance experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing litigated auto and general liability claims, complex bodily injury claims, and complex coverage matters.
  • Demonstrated experience handling severe claims with exposures exceeding $750,000 in value.
  • Experience with litigation, arbitration, mediation, and participation in legal proceedings.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced education or industry designations such as JD, MBA, CPCU, AIC, or CCLA preferred.
  • Experience in the high-net-worth insurance sector is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of claims investigation, coverage evaluation, reserving practices, negotiation, and resolution strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present complex information.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to build trust, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and contribute positively to a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and email platforms.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
