This role provides a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact engineering team responsible for the company’s authoritative user and business data systems. You will shape the long-term technical strategy for foundational user identity platforms, ensuring consistency, compliance, and scalability across products and AI initiatives. The position involves guiding the development of APIs, event-driven interfaces, and governance practices that serve multiple product and infrastructure teams. You will mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team while influencing cross-organizational adoption of best practices. Accountabilities:- Define and execute the multi-year technical strategy for authoritative user and business data systems across online, offline, and event-driven platforms
- Lead the design, implementation, and adoption of consistent source-of-truth interfaces for critical user data
- Establish and scale user data governance practices, including cataloging, auditing, compliance-by-design, and privacy-first defaults
- Enable AI-powered product experiences by providing trusted, high-quality user data foundations
- Drive cross-organizational collaboration to align engineering execution with product and infrastructure priorities
- Mentor, develop, and grow a high-performing engineering team, promoting a culture of ownership, inclusion, and technical excellence
- Ensure systems are scalable, performant, secure, and compliant with relevant data privacy and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- 10+ years of industry experience, with 5+ years in engineering management or equivalent leadership roles
- Strong expertise in distributed, large-scale backend and data systems, including domain modeling, service APIs, event-driven architectures, and offline data pipelines
- Proven experience driving adoption of foundational platforms across multiple teams and competing priorities
- Deep understanding of data privacy, compliance, and governance in large-scale systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to define technical vision, align teams, and influence stakeholders
- Track record of inclusive leadership, talent development, and building high-ownership teams
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with identity, user, and account modeling at scale, including relationships, permissions, authentication, and authorization
- Familiarity with data governance practices, including cataloging, lineage, auditing, and policy enforcement
- Experience partnering with Trust, Risk, Compliance, or Tax teams
- Expertise in evolving large systems incrementally while maintaining product velocity
