The position offers a chance to shape the technical roadmap, mentor engineers, and drive innovation in mobile software at scale. You will collaborate closely with product managers, scientists, and external partners to deliver impactful solutions that optimize user experience and performance. This role is ideal for leaders who enjoy balancing technical hands-on expertise with people management and strategic planning in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.

  • Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning to support team growth.
  • Define hiring needs and partner with recruiting to attract and retain top engineering talent.
  • Own the technical vision and roadmap for the Android SDK, ensuring high performance, low-latency, and minimal resource usage.
  • Make architecture and design decisions to support new features, ad delivery, real-time targeting, and data collection while maintaining privacy-first principles.
  • Establish development best practices, including testing, code review, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with product managers and applied scientists to integrate machine learning models and predictive logic into the SDK.
  • Serve as the technical liaison with OEM partners for SDK integration, feature deployment, and performance monitoring.
  • Requirements:
  • 3+ years managing a software engineering team with a focus on mentorship and performance management.
  • 7+ years of software development experience, with deep expertise in Android platform development (Java/Kotlin).
  • Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying high-volume, performance-critical SDKs or mobile libraries.
  • Strong understanding of Android architecture, OS behavior, battery optimization, and threading models.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, anticipate technical risks, and deliver complex software releases on time.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to convey technical issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work hybrid or fully remote from select U.S. locations; no relocation or visa sponsorship available.
  • Benefits:
  • Competitive salary range ($169,000–$215,000 in Austin, TX) with a 10% annual bonus tied to company goals.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Flexible paid time off and leave policies.
  • Retirement savings plan and company match.
  • Professional development opportunities and stipends.
  • Remote-friendly, collaborative, and inclusive work environment.
