This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager in the United States.

In this role, you will lead a team of software engineers, driving the development and delivery of client-facing applications across web and mobile platforms. You will be responsible for shaping technical strategy, mentoring engineers, and ensuring that your team delivers scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions. This position blends hands-on coding with leadership, allowing you to contribute directly to architecture, prototyping, and debugging while guiding your team to success. You will foster a high-performing, inclusive culture, ensuring alignment with organizational values and engineering best practices. With a focus on end-to-end outcomes, you will oversee project delivery, monitor performance metrics, and continuously improve processes and systems. The role is remote with periodic on-site events, offering an opportunity to impact both the team and the products in a fast-paced, innovative environment.

Accountabilities

  • Lead a team of 3–8 engineers responsible for web and mobile applications, providing technical guidance and strategic oversight.
  • Drive end-to-end delivery of user-facing features, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Mentor engineers, conducting 1:1s, setting growth goals, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.
  • Participate in architecture and design discussions, contributing hands-on coding, prototyping, and debugging as needed.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, processes, and best practices to maintain quality and discipline across the team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and operations teams to align engineering outcomes with business objectives.
  • Monitor team performance metrics, SDLC processes, and delivery KPIs to ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years managing teams of 3–8 engineers, preferably in a startup or SaaS environment.
  • Strong technical background in Python/Django, JavaScript/React, or React Native, with experience in full-stack application development.
  • Proven ability to lead design reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure high-quality, secure, and scalable systems.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, setting growth plans, and developing inclusive hiring and team-building processes.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality client applications on time and managing SDLC processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to build psychological safety within teams.
  • Bonus: experience in fintech, benefits platforms, high-availability systems, or implementing CI/CD and observability tools.

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary: $180,000–$210,000 plus equity.
  • Comprehensive health coverage: 95% of medical, dental, and vision.
  • Flexible work-from-home arrangements and periodic team on-sites.
  • Generous PTO and wellness allowance.
  • $250 home office setup stipend and $150/month for cell phone/internet.
  • $100/month wellness allowance.
  • Inclusive and diverse work environment with professional growth opportunities.
