The ideal candidate is able to recognize that successful software development requires communication, experimentation, and iteration.  On this scaling team, you will have a strong hand in defining Alma's features, services, and architecture. font-size: 12pt;">Set direction for the team, anticipating strategic and company scaling challenges via thoughtful long term planning. </li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Partner with product managers, designers, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure your team is prioritizing and delivering value to Alma members and internal teams. </li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Build scalable internal platforms and tools that drive operational efficiency, reduce manual work, and support Alma’s growth at scale. </li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Engage in the end to end recruiting process, hiring, and onboarding engineering talent to help grow the team. </li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Mentor engineers on technical design, clean architecture, and sustainable development practices that support rapid iteration while maintaining quality.</li><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate with the broader Product and Engineering teams to help craft technical and product strategy.</li></ul><h3>Who you are:</h3><ul><li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">You have 5+ years of engineering experience, with 1-3 years of people management.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">You’ve previously managed a team of 3 or more engineers.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">You are a mentor to individual contributors of different seniority levels and expertise.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">You are comfortable jumping into the code to understand, contribute and/or troubleshoot technical issues.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">You possess a clear and engaging communication style with a track record of building positive relationships across a broad diverse organization.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">You are comfortable adapting and leading your team through a fast-paced, ever-changing startup environment by using clear and direct communication.</li><li style="font-size: 12pt;
