Accountabilities:- Lead a senior engineering team, managing feature delivery velocity, quality, operational excellence, and overall team performance
- Mentor and develop engineers, focusing on professional growth, retention, and well-being
- Design, build, and launch new product features while improving internal and external applications
- Collaborate closely with product managers and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into actionable deliverables
- Implement and iterate on team metrics and agile processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure secure coding practices and protect sensitive data throughout the codebase
- Support production systems and troubleshoot complex technical issues as needed
- Partner with senior leadership to improve the broader engineering organization and processes
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience and 4+ years in engineering management
- Proven experience owning products through development, delivery, and live support
- Expertise in Python, Java, Typescript, or modern Javascript, with familiarity in React
- Strong background with relational databases such as Postgres and experience designing microservice-based, event-driven architectures
- Deep experience in agile methodologies (preferably Kanban) and fluent with agile toolkits
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience collaborating with product managers
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience working in startups, particularly in health tech or fast-growth environments
- Ability to balance hands-on technical work with strategic leadership and team management
Nice to Haves:
- Former startup founder or leadership experience in fast-growing startups
- Experience integrating with Epic EMR and FHIR APIs
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, AI development tools, and responsible adoption of AI technologies
- Experience building complex data visualization applications
