Engineering Manager, Platform

This role leads a high-performing engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining cloud-based SaaS products. You will oversee project planning, task delegation, and execution while ensuring scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions. You will drive innovation through best practices in API and data model design, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software architectures. Accountabilities:

Lead and manage a team of engineers, ensuring excellence in SaaS product delivery and adherence to technical standards
Define project requirements, develop schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor progress to meet goals
Facilitate cross-team communication, collaborating with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders
Identify technical, personnel, and project-related risks and implement effective mitigation strategies
Prepare progress reports and present updates to leadership and relevant stakeholders
Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, providing mentorship and support for career development

Requirements:

10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
Proven experience leading, managing, and scaling engineering teams in SaaS or cloud-based environments
Hands-on technical expertise in software development with experience in Kotlin, Java, C#, and Python
Proficiency in API and data model design, cloud architecture, and secure software development practices
Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple concurrent projects using Agile or hybrid methodologies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to address complex technical and team challenges

Preferred Experience:

Familiarity with feature/release toggles, third-party component selection, and operational leverage
CI/CD pipeline development and testing strategies
NoSQL databases, data caching, and non-relational data storage technologies
Federated GraphQL, messaging and streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka), event-driven architecture principles
Protobuf and gRPC for efficient service interface definition and data serialization
