This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for an Engineering Manager, Penn Game Studios in United States.

This role leads a high-performing team of software engineers focused on developing next-generation online games and gaming platforms. You will oversee both front-end and back-end development, manage platform-level systems, and ensure infrastructure reliability across physical and virtual servers. The position includes strategic planning, setting engineering best practices, and coordinating cross-functional initiatives to align technology with business goals. You will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and growing talent within the engineering team while driving technical excellence and innovation. Accountabilities:
  • Lead and manage the Penn Game Studios engineering team, including client-side, server-side, and system administration engineers
  • Set engineering standards, best practices, and processes across all development efforts
  • Oversee project planning, sprint prioritization, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery of initiatives
  • Contribute to architecture and design of major systems and research new technologies to solve technical challenges
  • Manage hiring, onboarding, and professional development for engineering staff
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate external features and ensure platform stability
  • Review and contribute to codebases in Go, Python, JavaScript, and shell scripting as needed
Requirements:
  • 3–5 years of leadership or management experience, with at least 8 years in software development
  • Proven experience in hiring, mentoring, and managing engineering teams
  • Strong technical background with proficiency in PostgreSQL, Redis, Linux, Git, and relevant software development tools
  • Ability to serve as a primary point of contact between non-technical management and engineering teams
  • Skilled in running efficient, outcome-focused meetings and coordinating interdisciplinary work with design and art teams
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Experience in gaming or interactive media development is highly desirable
