Pager Health partners with leading payers, providers and employers representing more than 26 million individuals across the United States and Latin America.</div> </div>As an Engineering Manager at Pager Health, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing complex technical projects, providing leadership in our dynamic environment, and continuously driving improvements in execution throughout the product life cycle. You will have the opportunity to influence product strategy, make critical architectural decisions, and design solutions using a range of cloud and open-source tools. This role is essential for ensuring the robustness and scalability of our products, while driving continuous innovation in healthcare technology.  Responsibilities <ul><li> Manage complex technical projects in enterprise software from planning to delivery.</li><li>Drive career development, promotions, team management, and performance management.</li><li>Collaborate and prioritize with tech leads and product managers in technical and product design to ensure high-quality product delivery.</li><li>Partner with senior management to strategize and implement business goals.</li><li>Recruit, mentor, promote, counsel, and nurture engineers at all levels including full stack and quality engineers of all levels.  </li><li>Prioritize and drive 20-30% of the backlog dedicated to technical improvement alongside feature development. </li><li>Own KPI tracking and reporting for the team, including velocity, commit-to-complete ratio, and a balanced ticket mix across features, enhancements, defects, and technical debt.</li><li>Identify opportunities for process improvement and lead initiatives for continuous improvement.</li><li>Influence product priorities using technical knowledge to ensure efficient delivery while maintaining software health and performance.</li><li>Facilitate and lead sprint ceremonies to foster communication, collaboration, and project momentum. </li><li>Embrace AI tools while maintaining "human-in-the-loop" validation to ensure quality</li></ul>Qualifications <ul><li> A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience managing software engineers.</li><li>Proven experience in driving complex technical projects in enterprise software.</li><li>Proven track record in recruitment, career development, promotion, team management, and performance management.</li><li>Deep familiarity with cloud services such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.</li><li>Experience in Agile methodologies and driving Agile transformations.</li><li>Extensive experience in technical design, partnering with tech leads.</li><li>Prior experience with any of the following: React, TypeScript, Next.JS, NestJS, .NET, SQL, and Angular. </li></ul>What Sets You Apart <ul><li> You are a forward-thinker, able to anticipate needs and proactively address them.</li><li>You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can adapt to shifting priorities.</li><li>You possess excellent leadership skills, capable of nurturing a high-performance culture.</li><li>You have a deep understanding of the healthcare domain and its unique challenges. </li><li>You are "all in" when it comes to appropriately utilizing AI to help solve healthcare problems.</li><li>You are a problem-solver, using your technical expertise and strategic mindset to drive Pager's vision.</li><li>You are devoted to growing and caring for the team. Enjoy solving the team's engineering problems to improve focus on delivering products</li><li>You have an eye towards operational efficiency within the scope of long term goals. </li></ul>For Colorado, Nevada, New York, and Washington DC-based employment: In accordance with the Pay Transparency laws the pay range for this position is $180,000 to $200,000. The compensation package may include stock options, plus a range of medical, dental, vision, financial, generous PTO, stipends for professional development, and wellness benefits.  Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.
